In the 3D printing course, I kept asking myself, Do products made with 3D printing really need to rely on massive printing? When printing becomes an unrestricted mode of production, where does its meaning lie? Using a clay brick with circular holes as the base, I conducted an experiment on minimal printing. I printed a series of thin-walled containers (0.5 mm thick) in various sizes. They can be freely combined and inserted into the brick, forming new relationships with the existing material. Through minimal printing effort, combined with existing materials and structures, the project explores a more restrained and meaningful way for 3D printing to interact with everyday objects.
